KUSF Playoffs A – Confirmed Teams Ahead of Fixture Announcement

The Kenya University Sports Federation (KUSF) is pleased to confirm the list of qualified and verified teams set to compete in the Playoffs A, scheduled for 19th to 21st February 2026 at Kabarak University.

Across multiple disciplines, universities from all KUSF regions—Nairobi North, Nairobi South, Western, Rift, Central, and Coast—have secured their places, reflecting the depth of talent and commitment to student-athlete development nationwide.

Highlights include:

  • Rugby 7s (Men): 10 teams confirmed, including CUK, AIU, UOK, MSU, KABU, MMARAU, KaRU, CHUKA, THARAKA, and LUKENYA.
  • 3×3 Basketball (Men & Women): Strong representation with 13 men’s teams and 16 women’s teams, featuring MKU, KU, UON, STRATH, JOOUST, CHUKA, MERU, MUT, PU, and TUM among others.
  • Combat Sports (Karate & Taekwondo): Multiple institutions qualified individually, ensuring competitive brackets in both men’s and women’s categories.
  • Mind Sports (Chess, Scrabble, Darts): Over 10 teams per discipline, showcasing the intellectual strength of student-athletes.
  • Racquet Sports (Tennis, Table Tennis, Badminton): More than 15 teams confirmed across men’s and women’s categories, with KU, MKU, JKUAT, UON, STRATH, KISII, MERU, and PU leading entries.
  • Swimming: USIU, MKU, JKUAT, UON, STRATH, CUK, KABU, and PU confirmed, alongside individual qualifiers.
  • Open Categories: Baseball5, Rugby 7s (Women), Woodball, and Rollball will feature diverse participation, with up to 9 teams per discipline.

The fixture schedule will be released shortly, setting the stage for three days of thrilling competition, camaraderie, and celebration of university sports excellence.
