Kenya Prepares for 2026 FISU World University Cross Country Championship: Tryouts Set for SEKU
The Kenya University Sports Federation (KUSF) is proud to announce the official tryouts for the 2026 FISU World University Championship Cross Country, scheduled to take place on 31 January and 1 February 2026 at South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU).
This marks a critical step in Kenya’s journey to the global stage, as university athletes from across the country converge to earn their place on the national team that will represent Kenya in Cassino, Italy, from 14–15 March 2026.
A Platform for Rising Stars
The tryouts will feature top talent from universities nationwide, showcasing Kenya’s depth in long-distance running and its legacy of excellence in cross country. Athletes will compete in various categories under FISU guidelines, with selectors evaluating performance, endurance, and tactical discipline.
SEKU’s unique terrain—where arid meets green—offers an ideal challenge for testing the grit and adaptability of our student-athletes. The university’s commitment to sport and transformation makes it a fitting host for this pivotal event.
Building Toward Cassino 2026
The selected team will join the global university sports community in Cassino, Italy, where they’ll compete against elite student-athletes from around the world. The FISU World University Championship Cross Country is not only a test of athletic prowess but a celebration of academic and sporting excellence.
KUSF is working closely with university sports departments, coaches, and national athletics bodies to ensure a fair, transparent, and inspiring selection process. The federation remains committed to empowering student-athletes through international exposure and holistic development.
Join Us at SEKU
We invite the university sports community, alumni, and supporters to witness the future of Kenyan athletics in action. Let’s cheer on our athletes as they chase their dreams and carry the nation’s hopes to Cassino.
