15th KUSF Women Championships – Day 2 Update

The 15th edition of the Kenya University Sports Federation (KUSF) Women Championships is now in full swing, with Day 2 showcasing the energy, talent, and determination of student-athletes from across the country. With 1203 participants representing 24 universities, the championships continue to highlight the growing strength of women’s sports in Kenya.
Competition remains fierce across the 16 disciplines, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, athletics, and netball, alongside indoor and mind sports such as chess, scrabble, and table tennis. Martial arts events like taekwondo and karate have also drawn enthusiastic crowds, reflecting the diversity and inclusivity of the tournament.
Kenyatta University has made its presence felt with the largest delegation of 160 athletes, while Kisii University follows closely with 120 participants. Other strong contingents include TTU (78), University of Nairobi (70), and Tharaka University (62). These institutions are setting the pace, but every university—whether fielding large or small teams—is contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the championships.
Day 2 has already delivered thrilling matches and inspiring performances, with athletes demonstrating resilience and teamwork. The blend of experienced competitors and emerging talents ensures that every discipline is fiercely contested. Beyond the competition, the event continues to foster camaraderie, leadership, and empowerment among young women in sport.
